Vocabulary
The greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane and ozone) create the greenhouse effect.
The use of fossil fuels e.g. oil, natural gas and coal, has produced excesive amount of greenhouse gases and the result is global warning.
The effects of climate change: summers are getting hotter and winners are getting wetter, so drought (a long time without rain) and floods (much run) are becoming more common.
Animals and plants life is suffering.
To stop global warning form destroying our environment, we need to act.
Six ways to reduce global warning
1. Don´t throw things away: recicle.
2. Save energy e.g. switch off lights.
3. Drive less and walk more.
4. Don´t waste water e.g. turn off the tap when you are brushing you teeth.
5. Change light bulbs for more energy-efficient ones.
6. Plant tree because trees reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and so reduce greenhouse gasses.
